I am a delivery driver and this is my first time going to this Nursery today is April the 28th 2023. I can honestly say this was probably the best delivery I had even though I had to help take off 794 plants off my truck. The owner and his granddaughter and another young man are the most knowledgeable caring people I have ever met. And they have some beautiful trees and flowers.

My wife and I bought a new house in Rutland in January 2020. After we got settled, we decided on doing some big renovations to our new land, including (but not limited to) landscaping/seeding/brush clearing and planting both privacy and decorative trees. It ended up being a huge project. Joe was incredibly fair in his pricing. He and his team were and have been professional, personable, and dedicated in their work. We are very happy with their services and will continue to use them for any landscaping and nursery needs!

Top Notch Quality & Service!

Why Choose Lawn Dethatching?

Over time, a layer of thatch—dead grass, roots, and organic debris—builds up between your soil and grass blades. When this layer becomes too thick, it blocks water, air, and nutrients from reaching the root zone. The result? A lawn that looks dull, uneven, and struggles to grow properly.

Lawn dethatching addresses these issues by:

Removing Excess Buildup – Breaks up and clears the dense layer of thatch that prevents proper nutrient flow.

Improving Air & Water Penetration – Allows essential moisture and oxygen to reach the soil and root system.

Encouraging Stronger Root Growth – Healthier soil conditions promote deeper, more resilient roots.

Enhancing Lawn Thickness – Creates the ideal environment for grass to grow fuller and greener.

Reducing Disease & Pest Issues – Eliminates the conditions where harmful fungi and insects thrive.

This essential service restores balance to your lawn, helping it grow stronger, greener, and more vibrant season after season.

Our Dethatching Process

At Green Gardens Landscape, we follow a thorough, results-driven approach to bring your lawn back to life:

1. Lawn Evaluation
We assess thatch thickness, lawn health, and soil conditions to determine the right level of dethatching needed.

2. Professional Dethatching
Using commercial-grade equipment, we carefully remove the layer of built-up debris without damaging healthy grass.

3. Debris Removal & Cleanup
All loosened thatch and organic material is collected and removed, leaving your lawn clean and refreshed.

4. Lawn Recovery Support
We can recommend or apply additional services like overseeding or fertilization to speed up recovery and improve results.

5. Care Instructions
You’ll receive expert guidance on watering, mowing, and maintenance to ensure your lawn continues to thrive.

When Should You Dethatch?

The best time for dethatching is typically early spring or fall, when your lawn is actively growing and can recover quickly. These seasons provide the ideal conditions for your grass to rebuild strength and fill in thicker after the thatch is removed.
